Tips for finding a match in our vast database

October 18, 2024

When families make the decision to begin the beautiful journey of egg donation, there are so many factors to take into account — from finding the best egg bank that will simplify the process, to deciding whether to go with fresh or frozen eggs — the list goes on. But surely one of the most important considerations families face is how to find the right donor for their needs.

An intended parent may want a donor with certain physical characteristics or from a certain background; they may be focused on finding one who has attained a certain level of education; and others still might simply choose based on a feeling they experience when seeing them. Whatever the reason, the choice of egg donor is an important one.

And that’s why at Chosen Egg Bank, we pride ourselves on offering our clients one of the most expansive and diverse databases of egg donors in the industry. We want our clients to have a multitude of choices at their fingertips. And beyond that, we want them to rest assured knowing that whomever they choose, every one of our egg donors has been through a rigorous vetting process, to find the healthiest candidates (both physically and mentally) possible.

But, at first, searching through our vast database might seem daunting. So we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to navigating our donor list, to help our clients find their perfect match.

First, register for Chosen Egg Bank

First things first. You’ll want to visit our Chosen Egg Bank donor portal to register your name in our system. Simply fill out the necessary information such as first and last name, email address, phone number, then choose a secure password. Once you’ve done that, you’ll receive additional instructions via email to log in.

Now that you’re registered, let’s start exploring!

Our donor database gives you four tabs you can use to organize the information in front of you:

My favorites: This is a list of every egg donor you have saved for future consideration.

Suggested matches: Here you’ll find a list of donors that Chosen Egg Bank has proposed to you, based on your interests.

Exploring our search filters

To make your journey that much easier, we’ve provided a lengthy list of possible filters, so you can only focus on those donors who fit your unique criteria. They are as follows:

Donor availability

Our donors are separated into their particular stage of readiness. Options include currently available, under our review, in cycle, and temporarily unavailable.

Donation type

These are split into three categories: known egg donation, semi-known egg donation, and anonymous egg donation.

Cycle type

This is the desired form of donation the donor has selected. Options include: frozen egg only, fresh bank cycle only, or both.

Physical characteristics

Through a number of search filters, you can choose to input a certain height range, hair color, eye color, race, religion and ethnicity.

Intellectual characteristics

You can also filter our donors based on academic achievements, such as education level, whether they went to an Ivy League school, and even test scores.

How to read donor profiles

Once you’ve selected a donor’s profile to check out, you will see an exhaustive amount of information about them. The data is numerous, and includes details such as blood type, ethnic background, current BMI, compensation desired, tattoos and piercings, donation history, personal information, family histories, health histories, and so much more.

You will also be able to read an introduction from the egg donor, as well as answers to several personal questions, to get an in-depth look into their personality. We also ask our potential donors to write a personal message to any intended parents.

Reviewing photos & videos

Unlike other egg banks and egg donation agencies, we offer at least 30 high-quality images of our donors, featuring a range of ages going back to childhood. This is to give our intended parents a glimpse into some of the features their future children may possess. We also include a two-minute video of the donor, for a deeper look into who they are. Once you’ve narrowed down your decision, be sure to take down the donor’s ID number, and get in touch with us. The egg donation experts at Chosen Egg Bank are always available to help you!

We hope this guide has been helpful, and we encourage you to visit our donor database today to begin your journey. Visit choseneggbank.com to get started!
